Compact Brazed Heat Exchanger (CBE)

Intercambiadores de Calor de Placas Soldadas INTRODUCTION

In general, a Compact Brazed Exchanger (CBE) is a set of plates with corrugated channels between a front sheet and a back sheets - known as frames. These frames consist of plate seals, blind rings and cover plates.
The hole assembly is vacuum welded thus allowing a continuous bead between base material and filler.

Different designs for fluid passage through CBEs are available. For parallel flow CBEs two designs are offered: streamwise and counter-current flow. Different plate configurations are also available, which allows a wide versatility in CBEs designs.

Intercambiadores de Calor de Placas Soldadas PRODUCTS LINE

Most CBEs products are rated as B type. Base material used in CBE s is AISI 316 stainless steel and pure copper brazed. Typically maximum pressure for standard units is 31 bar (450 psi) and maximum temperature is 225° (437°F). Though B type CBEs are standard, there is a wide range of plate sizes and patterns, diameters and type of fittings, etc. are also available.
Intercambiadores de Calor de Placas Soldadas V type CBEs are basically an special configuration of B type CBSs and mainly devoted to evaporators. These CBEs are fitted with distribution elements at the refrigerant inlet fitting to be used for special fluids, thus allowing an optimized flow inside channels.

A wide range of further alternatives are also available including the D line: two service circuits for a single process circuit which guarantees a smooth performance even when one of the service circuits is down.

E line is developed for water-water applications in low pressure, moderate temperature boilers.

DW line has been designed for applications demanding a high thermal efficiency and at the same time a reduction in the internal loss of both fluids.

This product line is complemented with high pressure (45 bar - 650 psi) air driers. These driers are entirely built in stainless steel and extremely corrosion resistant even in hydrochloric applications.

APPLICATIONS

Heating pumps, industrial cooling systems such as for injection molding machines, solders, hydraulic presses and oil coolers; air conditioning, process water coolers for different industries; heat recovery systems for waste or process waters.
In the refrigeration services CBEs are used as
- Condensers
- Evaporators
- Gas Superheaters
- Desuperheaters
- Condensate supercoolers
- Economizers
- Intercoolers
